With over 45 years of experience in the health care industry, Robert E. Goff is a recognized expert in care delivery, organization and financing. His career has spanned a wide range of leadership positions as a hospital administrator, regulator, managed care executive, consultant and association executive. He has lectured as an adjunct professor in Managed Care and Healthcare Strategic Planning and has been a frequent presenter to physicians and community organizations. As an entrepreneur, he has been responsible for the development of numerous health care businesses, including one of the first for-profit HMOs in New York State, one of the earliest physician practice management companies, the first network model Medicaid managed care plan, as well as a variety of provider-based health care business initiatives. Mr. Goff recently retired following 18+ years as Executive Director and CEO of University Physicians Network, LLC (UPN) in New York City, the physician organization associated with NYU Langone Medical Center. He is co-author of ?The Patient, The Doctor & The Bill Collector?, a 2017 nominee for the ?Forward INDIE? Book Award for Health, and End Medical Debt, 2019, and author of ?Practice Intolerance, a revenue cycle guide?, as well as author of numerous industry related articles. Mr. Goff is currently active as a corporate Board member and/or advisor to a number of established and emerging companies, as well as a founding director of R.I.P. Medical Debt a charity engaged in relieving the burden of consumer medical debt. Since its founding, the charity has abolished medical debt in excess of $500 million. As the ABER Group LLC, he provides strategic and tactical consulting services to select clients in health technologies and health care delivery industries.
